Permanent makeup is safe for anyone, even if you are allergic to makeup. If you tend to be allergic to multiple things then a patch test should be done before doing any permanent makeup procedure. Its perfect for women who have a busy lifestyle and want to look their best, travel, swim or camp, have thin or sparse eyebrows, are physically challenged, have poor eyesight or unsteady hands.
Most procedures will take approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on the application. For instance, a full lip fill-in will take longer than just doing lip liner. One touch up is included in the price and must be done within a 6 month period. This is to make sure the area is healing properly, color is perfect and the shape is how we want it. Touch ups after this are suggested as needed to keep the area looking fresh and will be priced as to the amount of work that needs to be done. This could be 1 year, 2 yrs or even 5 years later. It depends on how deep the tattoo was placed, how well you take care of the area while its healing and whether you are using a daily sunblock on the area after it is completely healed to lessen fade-age.
It usually takes about 10 days to heal if following proper after care instructions. The area will more than likely be swollen or irritated immediately after and be much darker during this period while it heals. The area must first heal, peel then fade. Final results may take 4 to 8 weeks. You'll be sent home with an after care sheet and healing salve to apply daily to procedure area. If you have ever had a fever blister or cold sore around the mouth you must take Valtrex, Famvir, or Zovirax to prevent breakout post procedure. This will lessen the chance of breakout so that you don't lose color where breakouts occur.
There may be some discomfort during the procedure, but I always try to numb you as best I can. Everyone has a different pain threshold and not everyone takes to the topical anesthetics that are used in these procedures. Also, anyone taking blood thinners or even a daily aspirin must go off of these meds at least 7 days before having an area tattooed. The excess bleeding will hinder the results by not allowing pigment to absorb into the skin. You may start taking these meds after the procedure has been completed. As to cleanliness, all permanent makeup procedure parts are disposable. Needles and machine parts are sterile and single use only, pigment is thrown away each and every time and disposed of properly.
